2 months of the year, the Juneau Lions club volunteers to transport donated eye tissue between medical centers all of Wisconsin. Members are on call 24/7 moving tissue between Madison, WI and Fond Du Lac, WI. for more information visit the Eye Bank of Wisconsin Website(https://lebw.org/).
Twice a year you can see the Juneau Lions cleaning Highway 33 between Highway 26 and the city of Horicon.
Using state-of-the-art scanners, the Juneau Lions screen students at Dodgeland and St. John's to see if they may have vision issues. If our machine tells us the need a referral, the parents will be notified by the school that the student should get an eye exam. We screen around 300 students a year and refer about 10% for eye exams.
Wisconsin Lions Foundation collects deer hides and sells them to a company for the leather. This is a huge fundraiser for WLF and the Juneau Lions Club is very proud to support. Hides are collected November through Decembet at Jahnke's Piggly Wiggly in Juneau.
